The hand rankings in poker are based on the strength of the two pairs that you have in the pot. For example, the tens and jacks are stronger than the Aces and fours. So hand 2 wins in this example. If your pair has the same rank, you must tell the higher pair first before the low pair. Likewise, if you have two pairs that are exactly the same, you should check the kicker.
Rules of etiquette in poker
One of the most important rules of poker etiquette is not to discuss your hand with your opponent when you’re not in it. A famous example of this is when Justin Schwartz went deep in the Main Event of the WSOP and showed utter disregard for table etiquette and common decency by commenting on the play of Federico Butteroni and Daniel Negreanu. His fellow players, including Max Steinberg, called him out on his poor etiquette.
